She is an innovator and leader in this field and is honored for her commitment and dedication to providing superb patent-and-family-centered care. She is extraordinarily talented and plays a key role in counseling p atients prior to surgery about what to expect, and in restoring speech and swallowing function following surgery and other treatment, improving their quality of life. She is passionate about the Head and Neck Cancer patient population. Teresa Lyden is also being honored for her work as the lead Head and Neck Oncology SLP for the University of Michigan Health System. Throughout her tenure in SLP, she has demonstrated exceptional skill in four key areas: clinical assessment and treatment, program development, teaching, and clinical research. She was cited for being an excellent teacher, mentor, and supervisor. On Friday during the Awards Luncheon Carolyn Doty presented Outstanding Clinician Awards to Teresa Lyden, M.A., CCC-SLP, and Lynn Driver, M.S., CCC-SLP, both from the University of Michigan Health System. The MSHA 2016 Annual Conference in Grand Rapids was fantastic! Excellent speakers, beautiful facility and great networking with our Michigan colleagues.
